Simmons - Ida Evans

Ida EVANS, daughter of of Sampson and Violent Evans was born January 3, 1863 and passed away from the vale of tears to the Great Beyond on Nov 26, 1926. She was married to Alfred SIMMONS on Nov 4, 1880 and to this union were b. four children, 3 daus and one son. One daughter, Goldie departed this life on Dec 17, 1900. Goldie, with her two sisters, Mrs. Emma GLEENT and Mrs. Mary DONNELY and her parents, were waiting with the angels to receive Ida when she passed through the portals. She leaves, besides her devoted husband and companion, one son, Meritte Simmons of Petroleum, Ind; two daughters, Mrs. Grace SMITH of Linden and Marie at home. She also leaves 7 grandchildren and 3 brothers, John Evans of Montpelier, Aden Evans of Belleville and William Evans of near Linden. She numbered her friends as legion and was a neighbor and friend in the truest sense. She united with the Methodist Church when only a girl and has lived as the Master commanded, "That ye love one another, even as ye have loved me.:" "A precious one from us has gone, a Voice we loved is still; A place made vacant in our home, which never can be filled."
